Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has designed the masterplan for Khalid Bin Sultan Metropolis, which is being developed in Sharjah, UAE by BEEAH Group.
Town can have seven residential neighbourhoods organized round a public area, with a 2km-long shaded oasis, “incubator” areas for creatives and cultural venues.
Houses will probably be inside strolling distance of facilities.
The oasis has been designed as an unfurling backyard, progressively providing glimpses to guests exploring the panorama. It can have sheltered operating and biking tracks, sculpture gardens, courtyards, ponds, cafés and eating places.
Town has been designed round pedestrian pathways, sheltered by Sharjah’s native bushes and vegetation and recessed façades.
Town is positioned near Sharjah’s enterprise, procuring and leisure areas.
