Three staff have been killed and two injured after scaffolding collapsed on the Bechtel Port Arthur Liquified Pure Fuel undertaking in Texas.
A spokesperson from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned the accident was the results of “some sort of failure within the scaffolding system”.
Bechtel issued an announcement saying building had been paused on the website and that it could work with the authorities on an investigation.
It mentioned: “All work on the website was instantly stopped following the incident, and we have now despatched all craft professionals residence early to be with their households throughout this tough time. Supporting these impacted and guaranteeing website security stay our prime priorities.”
Bechtel signed an EPC settlement for the undertaking in 2018 and is at the moment engaged on phases one and two.
