South Korea’s Hyundai Building Gear has opened its new “mom plant” in Dong-gu, Ulsan after a $150m modernisation.
The brand new manufacturing unit combines two present vegetation into one 235,000-sq-m facility that may increase Hyundai’s manufacturing of medium-to-large excavators and wheel loaders by 56% to fifteen,000 items a yr.
Hyundais says it is going to be the “mom plant”, appearing as the worldwide manufacturing hub for its subsidiaries.
It’s going to have welding robots and an AI high quality inspection system, which the corporate says will enhance productiveness by 20% and scale back manufacturing time by 35%.
