
A consortium led by Bouygues Bâtiment Worldwide and together with native agency Iacovou Brothers has gained a €170m design-build contract for the part 2 extensions of Larnaka and Pafos airports within the Republic of Cyprus.
Bouygues’ share of the contract awarded by the airports’ concession holder Hermes Airports is €119m.
Hermes Airports has additionally chosen a consortium of US-based Hill Worldwide and Salfo & Associates to offer engineering and building oversight.
Part 2 will will practically double each airports’ capability, with the larger Larnaka’s set to rise from 7.5 million passengers a yr now to 12.4 million, and Pafos’ to rise from 2.7 million now to five million.
Bouygues mentioned the work at Larnaka will take 30 months to finish and 27 months at Pafos.
At Larnaka, the consortium will construct a three-storey extension to the prevailing terminal to accommodate extra safety checkpoints and retail and restaurant areas.
The primary terminal may also get a brand new pier with walk-in boarding and arrival gates, and new plane parking areas.
Pafos may also get an expanded terminal with elevated capability for border management, safety and baggage supply features, redesigned industrial areas, and an extended southern taxiway.
