American semiconductor maker Texas Devices (TI) is spending $60bn on seven manufacturing vegetation on three websites – two in Texas, and one in Utah – which it says will create round 60,000 jobs.
Calling it the “largest funding in foundational semiconductor manufacturing in US historical past”, the corporate stated it had been “working with the Trump administration” on the mission.

At its website in Sherman, Texas, the SM1 semiconductor fabrication plant will start manufacturing this yr, three years after breaking floor. The outside of SM2 has been accomplished. Two extra vegetation, SM3 and SM4, are deliberate.
