
French engineer Egis has been employed by Qatar’s transport ministry to attract up a masterplan for the nation’s public transport system.
Egis says the Qatar Public Transport Masterplan will “bypass standard frameworks” to take care of the problems of congestion, car-dependence and environmental impacts.
It hopes to offset the consequences of Qatar’s fast city progress with inexperienced commitments and is designed to assist policy-makers, authorities officers, builders, buyers, consultants, engineers and planners.
The plan, which can be developed over two-and-a-half years, will comprise frameworks and pointers for efficient planning, design, implementation, and the operation of public transit providers. It is going to supply “prescriptive” insurance policies, legal guidelines and rules backed up by a monitoring scheme.
