Radar tech lets diggers see pipes before digging

Israeli tech agency RodRadar and Sitech Deutschland have joined forces to market a product that makes use of radar and AI expertise embedded in excavation gear to stop cable and pipeline strikes in Germany and Austria.

RodRadar’s Reside Dig Radar expertise can detect underground objects in actual time and alert machine operators.

Sensors embedded in a digger’s bucket scan the bottom and alert the operator to buried objects and their depth.

The businesses say the expertise will reduce excavation dangers, forestall delays, and enhance security.

Annually, Germany studies round 100,000 cable and pipeline strikes, with excavation equipment chargeable for almost 80% of them. In Austria, the determine is round 34,000.
