40,000 capacity Panathinaikos stadium approved for Athens

Athens’ native authorities has accepted development of a brand new stadium for Greek soccer workforce Panathinaikos, situated in Votanikos within the Greek capital’s south west.

Designed by Greece’s A&S Architects, the stadium will include 40,000 seats and can take a round kind, aiming to cut back its scale and seem as a “sculpture within the panorama” when seen from afar.

The stadium shall be half of a bigger redevelopment effort in Votanikos, which is able to include a park, leisure areas and outlets.

Athens’ metropolis authorities has additionally granted the demolition license for Panathinaikos’ previous Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium, in response to Greek newspaper Kathimerini, which has a 16,000 capability however managed to accommodate as much as 29,000 followers.
